mvBlueCOUGAR-XD - 2 links 4 more speed
At the VISION 2011 in Stuttgart, MATRIX VISION introduced the new Dual GigE camera family mvBlueCOUGAR-XD – the smallest in its class.
Many applications simultaneously require a higher resolution and increasing frame rates. While PC’s can process this bandwidth, cameras using standard interfaces like Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) and USB 2.0, however, reach their bandwidth limits – until now.
For such applications, MATRIX VISION offers the new mvBlueCOUGAR-XD with two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. Dual GigE achieves transfer rates up to 240 Mbytes at distances up to 100m. This makes it possible to use new ultra fast VGA sensors (up to 600 fps), high resolution CMOS sensors with up to 4 Mpixels and 60 fps (available starting 1st quarter 2012) and brand new Sony CCD sensors with up tp 6.1 Mpixels (quad tap, 2nd quarter 2012).
Because the camera is based on the successful mvBlueCOUGAR-X it features the same familiar properties like large image memory (increased to 256 Mbytes) and resend buffer, 14 bit ADC resolution (CCD), smart digital inputs and outputs, etc.
The large, powerful FPGA allows preprocessing steps inside the camera directly to reduce the CPU load of the host system. Additionally, the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD will support lenses with video iris or motorized adjustment of zoom, focus and aperture as an option.
The GigE camera will be compliant to the standards GenICam™ and the upcoming GigE Vision® 2.0. Drivers will be available for Linux and Windows 7. Furthermore, the camera will be supported by image processing libraries which are compliant to GigE Vision® 2.0.
