Newsletter 04/2015

Hello,

As mentioned in the last newsletter you may recall that just before summertime we strengthened our international activities with Andy Ward as sales manager for the UK and Ireland and with Rajesh Pattipati as our new support employee in India.

As of 1st September we welcome two additional sales managers František Jakubec and Réda Drissi Alami. Mr František Jakubec will be located in Prague and responsible for Eastern Europe with focus on Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Hungary. Mr Réda Drisi Alami will handle the sales activities in the BeNeLux countries Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. Mr Alami will have his office in Brussels. We warmly welcome the new members to our team.

We hope you enjoy reading the other items in our newsletter.

New landing page demonstrates advantages of the smart camera mvBlueGEMINI

Configure an inspection simply and without any programming work? Image processing knowledge is no longer an absolute requirement? What previously could only be imagined has now become true with our new smart camera mvBlueGEMINI. With "Out of the Box" and "Plug & Work" you can start immediately.

But that's not all: Our new mvBlueGEMINI landing page shows further advantages of the smart camera.

mvIMPACT Acquire driver compliant to Windows 10

At the end of July, Microsoft started to distribute their new operating system Windows 10. This version will be supported over the next 10 years and due to the adaptions and improvements for desktop users, this version has become more attractive again for industrial usage. We've been quietly updating our camera and frame grabber drivers, now they are compliant to the new operating system. As usual, the drivers can be downloaded for free.

Further IMX sensors with higher image quality and frame rate

Following on from the enormous success of the new IMX174/249 Global Shutter CMOS sensors, Sony is introducing yet more new models. The reduction in pixel size (to 3.45 µm) provides higher resolution images. Thanks to further decreased image noise levels, the dynamic range remains practically unchanged at levels in excess of 71 dB, resulting in improved image quality with a higher resolution, as well as an increased image refresh rate. The first samples will be made available during Q4 2015, and the range will be launched during Q1 2016:

  • mvBlueFOX3-2032 G/C

    • 1/1.8" CMOS sensor IMX252

    • 3.2 Mpixels (2048 x 1536)

    • 100 fps at full resolution

    • Global shutter

    • Gray scale and color model

  • mvBlueFOX3-2051 G/C

    • 2/3" CMOS sensor IMX250

    • 5.1 Mpixels (2448 x 2048)

    • 60 fps at full resolution

    • Global shutter

    • Gray scale and color model

3-head-camera now available

The Gigabit Ethernet camera mvBlueCOUGAR-X is also available as a 3 head model and allows the operation of three identical sensor heads with just one base electronics. The model behaves like a single GigE Vision camera, which greatly simplifies imtegration. Further highlights are the precise synchronous acquisition of all sensors as well as the possibility to trigger all sensors simultaneously. Furthermore, you can set the gain and the offset of each sensor separately:

  • mvBlueCOUGAR-3X120a G

    • 1/3" CCD-Sensor ICX424

    • 0.3 Mpixels (640 x 480)

    • 64 fps at full resolution (@8 bit per image)

    • Global shutter

    • Gray scale model

  • mvBlueCOUGAR-3X123 G/C

    • 1/2" CCD-Sensor ICX267

    • 1.4 Mpixel (1360 x 1024)

    • 30 fps at full resolution (@8 bit per image)

    • Global shutter

    • Gray scale and color model
