Newsletter 03/2016
Hello,
While the European football championships have sought to find the best national team, INSPECT magazine is looking for the best innovation in the fields of vision, automation and control to win its INSPECT Award. We have been nominated for our dual concept consisting of the mvBlueGEMINI smart camera and the mvIMPACT Configuration Studio (mvIMPACT-CS for short).
The concept simplifies entry into the field of industrial image processing and makes it possible for pretty much anyone to set up inspections. Because with the mvIMPACT-CS software, we provide an image processing expert as part of the package. The scene being captured at the time by the smart camera is automatically analyzed by mvIMPACT-CS, then suitable algorithms and filters are selected and the right parameters are set automatically. The user can make use of tools whose names such as "Find object", "Read code", "Check object" or "Measure object" describe their respective purposes. mvIMPACT-CS uses user-friendly language, so that users do not necessarily need to possess prior knowledge of image processing. The tools make it possible to carry out visual inspection tasks in just a few minutes – quickly and cost-effectively.
As the award is such a meaningful one, we are therefore inviting you to cast your vote. We would of course be pleased if anyone were to vote for our innovation. Many thanks in advance. Votes can be cast at the following website until 30 September 2016: http://www.inspect-award.de
Regards,
Your MATRIX VISION Team
New driver version 2.16.1 available

With the new mvIMPACT Acquire Version, the sequencer mode has also been expanded; this can be used to define sequences containing a certain parameter set.
A new feature is the ability to execute every parameter set multiple times using the counter duration property. This means, for example, that identical exposure times do not have to be stored in separate parameter sets, but can be carried out repeatedly. In the case of mvBlueFOX3-2 USB 3.0 cameras, vertical and horizontal binning can also be recorded in the parameter set.
Synchronization of time stamps without IEEE 1588

There are numerous applications that do not support the “IEEE 1588” standard on clock synchronicity of multiple devices or do not benefit from it. For these cases, we have introduced our own mechanism called mvTimestampReset. mvTimestampReset makes it possible to reset the time stamp of a device using a hardware input. We have described how this works in the "Synchronizing camera timestamps without IEEE 1588” use case.
