Own programs produce segmentation faults
There are, of course, many reasons why program crash with a segmentation fault. But if the program is very simple (e.g. "Hello World") or is one of the example applications from MATRIX VISION then the problem is often caused by the transfer to the mvBlueLYNX via FTP.
If you use the built-in Microsoft Windows FTP client it transfers files by default using ASCII mode. You must not forget to set up the binary transfer mode at the start of every FTP session by issuing the command "binary 1". In this way the files are not altered during transfer.
A better FTP client, which doesn"t have this problem, is available as part of Cygwin. So you do not always have to use the Microsoft program.
