The smart camera mvBlueLYNX is used as an autonomous and adaptable tracking system. At this the camera uses three concepts:

  • Usind particle filtering techniques enables the robust handling of multimodal pdfs and nonlinear systems.
  • An adaptivity mechanism increases the robustness by adapting to slow appearance changes of the target.
  • A simple diagnosis unit controls the degree of adaptivity. It is based on a confidence measure of the tracker.

The camera system calculates all data inside the system and displays only the results. The camera can be used for robotics (visual servoing) and for surveillance (person tracking).
